Offshore Oil Terminal (OOT) – Vadinar

Offshore Oil Terminal of Deendayal Port Authority is one of the major oil handling port facility of India.

The Deendayal Port Authority had commissioned the Off-shore Oil Terminal facilities at Vadinar in the year 1978, in which M/s. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) installed Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) system, which was first of its kind in India. Subsequently,IOCL installed one more SBM in 1998, increasing the total capacity upto 54 MMTPA.Further, significant Quantum of infrastructural upgradation has beencarried out & excellent maritime infrastructure has been created at Vadinar for the 20MMTPA Nayara Energy Limited’s Oil Refinery in Devbhumi Dwarka District. It consists of one SBM and two Product Jetties.

The 1st & 2nd SBM at Vadinar of M/s. IOCL were commissioned during 1978 & 1997 respectively.

The 1st SBM of M/s. Nayara Energy Limited (NEL) was installed & commissioned in September 2006 for importing crude for oil refinery of M/s. NEL near Vadinar in Jamnagar District.

M/s. Nayara Energy Limited’s two product jetties were commissioned in Dec’ 06 & Dec’ 09 respectively, which can accommodate tankers of one lakh DWT capacity each.

Vast Crude tankage facility having capacity of 15,30,000 KL and 11,20,000 KL of M/s. IOCL & M/s. NEL respectively.

Providing Crude Oil intake facilities for the refineries of M/s. IOCL at Koyali (Gujarat). Mathura (U.P), Panipat (Haryana) and M/s. NEL Refinery near Vadinar in Devbhumi Dwarka District (Gujarat).
- Draft up to 33 meters at SBMs and Lighterage Point Operations (LPO) at Vadinar is available.

Three nos. of Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) are available.
- Handling of VLCCs having 3.00,000 DWT and more.

Simultaneously, Handling of three VLCC tankers at two SBMs of M/s. IOCL & one SBM of M/s. NEL.

Five in nos. of 60 T B. P. Tugs are available at Vadinar for the smooth and simultaneous shipping operations. Tugs are FiFi Class 1 equipped for emergency firefighting.

Port is Tier –I Oil Spill Response Compliant. Three Tugs are equipped with Oil Spill Response (OSR) equipments to mitigate any oil spill incidence.

Excellent infrastructure and tranquil waters facilitate trans-shipment operations even during the monsoon season at OOT Vadinar.

One L shaped service jetty at Vadinar, constructed in 1978 for Tugs/Crafts/Launches is available at Vadinar.

One RoRo –LoLo jetty of M/s NEL, constructed in 1997 at Vadinar, is available for handling of project cargo/construction materials/spare parts.

For development on captive use basis of one SBM (14.5 MMTPA) and two Product Jetties (10 MMTPA), Deendayal Port Authority has signed Concession Agreement with Coviva Energy Terminals Ltd (a subsidiary of Nayara Energy Limited) on 16th April’ 2015 having an estimated cost of 448 crores.
