Constructed in the 1950s, it was developed as the chief seaport<br \/>\nserving western India after independence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16.5px; margin: 0;\">Strategically positioned approximately <strong>256 nautical miles<\/strong> southeast of Karachi<br \/>\nand <strong>430 nautical miles<\/strong> north-northwest of Mumbai, Deendayal Port is today<br \/>\n<strong style=\"color: #0b2c5d;\">India\u2019s largest port by cargo volume<\/strong>.
